EWC Fun Run/Walk 2012

On Saturday 05 May 2012, Ekurhuleni West College in Association with
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality hosted a 5km Fun Run that took place at EWC
Tembisa Campus. The theme for the event was "Run to Shelter the
underprivileged."
The aim of the Fun Run was to encourage the community to work together in
alleviating poverty and restoring human dignity, morals and values that are
swiftly fading away. The event also served as a charitable event aimed at
raising funds for building a house or houses for the destitute families.
Food parcels and clothes were donated to destitute families as identified by
the Health and Social Welfare department of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality
in Tembisa.
Staff members, Community members, learners from Tembisa high schools and
students of EWC participated in the 5 Km Fun Run. About 450 runners participated
in the Fun run. After the Fun Run all participants were treated to a braai.
Ekurhuleni West College would like to send its heartfelt gratitude to the
following companies: Vodacom, Pothlako, Goldi Chicken, ABI, ELN Signs, Billy and
Sons Civil & Security, Introstat, Cosmic Micro Computer, Matcom, Voice of
Tembisa FM, Oasis water, Repro Centre and Sasko bakery. The 2012 Fun Run/Walk
was a success because of their contributions and support.
